It is weird to admit, but I truly believe that with the advancements of the internet in society today, and how it continues to become more accesible to more and more people, the media as we know will soon becoming to an end.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to see that in two years, the already struggling newspaper industry fell another 23%. Local news agencies are feeling the wrath of technoligical advancements as well.
I do not believe however that this is going to destroy social media. I truly believe that as technology advances, the newpaper industry and local news agencies, will find a way to develop and evolve.
I agree with you, but it is the most difficult time to find that way.
ReplyDeleteMedia history tells us old media adopted and evolved that way, as did radio for example. But it looks media industry will be in big crisis, with no a new economic model of news business...
I definitely agree but after the guest presentation/lecture last Wednesday I think this dark cloud may have a silver lining after all. At the very least it offered a lot of hope for the future and adaptation of news media.
