Life without Internet connection?

BBC conducted a very interesting experiment to find out how powerful in a contemporary society the Internet is. Two South Korean families agreed to live a week without the Internet access.

  1. No way. I can see the benefits with rediscovering all that "lost" time but the Internet has become too integral to daily life.

  2. It strange to think of many of the things the internet is taking time away from, such as reading books and playing board games. Instead we read digital articles and play digital games. Eye opening as well is the fact that many children today don't understand what the world was like without the internet, because it has been a major staple their entire lives. I can remember when we first got the internet and you could find a lot of things online but it meant booting up the computer which took like 10 minutes and then connecting to the internet which took another 10 and loading your websites, which even with all text took another 10 minutes. Now the answers for every question can be had instantly on iPhones and 3g wireless internet devices, or texted with cha-cha or kgb or any of the other question answering services the internet offers. Interesting times to say the least.
